Because of the global Covid-19 pandemic, Frankfort has changed some aspects of the election process. Every registered voter in the State of Kentucky is eligible to apply for an absentee ballot. The State Board of Elections will have an online portal available until October 9. Go to www.GoVoteKY.com to access this portal. The voter will go through a series of online prompts to identify themselves using date of birth and social security number. They will use their driver’s license number to sign or sign digitally using an I-pad or other device. A ballot will then be mailed to the voter with a prepaid postage envelope to return to our office. Please read the instructions carefully as a signature is required on each envelope. Once you have applied for a ballot the voter will be able to track the location of their ballot on the same online portal.

Ballots will not be mailed out until the end of September.

If you would rather not mail the ballot back, we will have a secure drop box outside the Campbell County Administration Building at 1098 Monmouth Street, Newport and another outside our office at 8330 West Main Street, Alexandria. These boxes will be available after October 1.

From October 13, 2020 to November 2, 2020 in-person absentee voting will be available for any voter during regular business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday and Saturday, October 17, October 24 and October 31 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Campbell County Administration Building, 1098 Monmouth Street, Newport.

There will still be an election day on Tuesday, November 3. Most of our regular polling locations will be open. Click here to see polling locations.

To check and see if you are registered to vote go to www.GoVoteKY.com. The deadline to register for the General Election is Monday, October 5, 2020.
